18 members and guest of the Carolina Butterfly Society and the
Ogeechee Audubon Society held a joint field trip to the Tillman Sand Ridge
HP, Jasper Co., SC from 9:30AM to 2:00PM The weather was good with only
short periods of cloud cover. Only two nectar plants were seen: Mexican
Clover (Richardia scabra) and Ironweed (Vernonia acalis). We had a fair
diversity of butterfly species but as has been the case all summer low
numbers of individuals.
