Annual Foray: Aiken, SC Count

Hi All,

We had a good time on the Carolina Butterfly Society's foray in Aiken
Co, SC this last weekend despite the low number of butterflies which I feel
was because of the late freeze and the lack of rain. Nine people looked for
butterflies in parks, heritage preserves, gardens and weedy roadsides in the
2nd weekend foray co-sponsored by the Augusta-Aiken Audubon Society and CBS.
The highlight was a day-long field trip to the Silver Bluff Audubon
Sanctuary arranged by the Augusta-Aiken Audubon Society and the Silver
Bluff's staff. About 36 butterfly species including three new Aiken County
records were found. Species and approximate number of individuals seen
included:
