Loretta Lutman Butterfly Garden

Visit and tour of Loretta Lutman’s extensive private butterfly garden in Asheboro, Randolph Co., NC. We visited this garden last year and had great turn out and a great time.

Contact our host, Loretta Lutman <butterflies_bg@triad.rr.com>, for directions and to let her know that you’re planning to come. Note that this is a Sunday afternoon and we would like to start at 2 pm. There is a lot of preparation that goes into these private garden visits. In addition to maintenance on the garden, Loretta plans to have lemonade and snacks so she would like to know how many people to prepare for. We have a rain date planned in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. Guests are welcome.

Historic Bethabara Park

We will concentrate on the gardens on the north side of the park, which include a culinary garden, a medicinal garden, and an expanded butterfly garden. If we have the time and inclination, we will walk a short portion of the adjacent greenway. Note that we will start at 9:00 am in an effort to avoid some of the summer heat.

Contact Dennis Burnette <deburnette@triad.rr.com> by 6 pm on Friday evening, Aug. 9 to let us know that you’re coming. This is particularly important this time because of the late notice. If no one contacts us, we will postpone the walk.
