This is a pre-symposium butterfly walk but anyone is welcome whether they plan on attending the symposium or not.

Date:  Friday, September 11, 2026

Location: Southern 8ths Farm, Chesterfield Co., Chesterfield, SC

• Meeting Time:  1:00 pm – to 4:00 pm
• Meeting Spot: Meet at the Learning Center (GPS coordinates 34.79584, -80.15313), located behind the horse barns at 305 Lucious Davis Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709. Follow the entrance road through the property to the back. The driveway entrance to the property is located at GPS Coordinates 34.79965, -80.15423 on the south side of Lucious Davis Road.

Description:  We will explore along the Farms’ roads, going to areas of interest (or wherever we see butterflies).

Target Species: Southern Skipperling, Common Sootywing and Harvester

Notes:  Restrooms are available at the Learning Center meeting location. Please bring water, lunch, binoculars, cameras and field guides. Sunscreen, bug spray, long pants and close-toed shoes are highly recommended.
